Brief history of Wytschaete

In a act of 961,Wytschaete is already named.Wytschaete belonged to the kasselrij Ypres (burg county).During the Middle Ages often the scene of wars.In 1328 was Wytschaete the camp of the French king who besieged Ypres.In 1383 passed by the Brittish troops.In 1566 the church was partially destroyed and suffered under the Beggars.Unrest by gangs who came from Ostend.In 1635 re egon the war and lasted until 1672.Wytschaete was also part of France.1713 expelled the French and the Austrians come to power.In 1740 the French are back here,early 1789 the French Revolution and the church was used as horse stables.After the French occupation was peaceful in Wytschaete till 1914 Wytschaete upside is taken and occupied by the Germans to 1918.This will repeat in 1940 during the Second World War until 1945.Source:Wikipedia

Wytschaete is a village in the Belgian province West-Flanders.It is a district that belong to Hillcountry.A village with arround 2100 inhabitants in an area of 26,24 kms².Wytschaete is one of hills with the highest point 84m.
